Evelina Canopy, UK.

This stunning new link canopy joins the existing Victorian St Thomas’ Hospital building and a new, state of the art children’s hospital. The concept, designed by Hopkins Architects, was conceived and realised by DDA and Architen Landrell.

The umbrella-like canopy provides essential weather protection for the external walkway, for both patients and staff.

The light coloured form was created using an undulating central steel spine, cloaked in a translucent Tenara membrane. The taut translucent nature of the Gore Tenara fabric provides the aesthetic, which is further enhanced by careful detailing.
