Kuwait Cultural Centre

The Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre creates a world class museum district in Kuwait. There are six main buildings connected by a series of link bridges and complex floating steel canopy. The ‘wings’ are formed of a traditional Islamic lattice design set out in steel and clad with glass of varying opacities.

DDA provided pre-tender cladding/structural consultancy services as well as the detailed post contract structural engineering design of steel enclosures and bridge links connected to the concrete frame including coordination of cladding and glazing support systems. The engineering de- sign also included the high level, complex, canopy structure and cladding. This was followed by pre-tender sub contactor coordination and post-tender construction services on site.
