Dubai Pavilion At The Beach
Pavilion at The Beach features an enclosed, temperature-controlled environment to enable year-round use. The project benefits from the use of an EFTE (Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) roofing system, allowing for an abundance of natural light while reducing both solar heat load and the structural elements that would be required if a glass roof/skylights were installed.
Pavilion at The Beach houses six licensed restaurants complete with outdoor terraces overlooking the coast towards Bluewaters.
DDA Engineers designed the steelwork supporting ETFE cushions, the perimeter girder structure and supporting columns. The new roof spans 25 metres and comprises a number of inclined steel arches supporting the ETFE cushions. This steelwork is supported on a complex perimeter girder structure that spans between the roof of 5 existing buildings and 4 new full height support columns. The girder structure was designed to accommodate the different building structures and potential movements.
