Fresh Flower Canopy, UK.
Designed by award-winning architects Tonkin Liu, this transportable pavilion with its unfurling voluminous yellow petals served as a brightly coloured platform for talks held over the course of the London Festival of Architecture, 2008.
DDA worked closely with the client and architect on the form finding and analysis of the fabric as well as the design of the steelwork.
The structure comprises eleven petals formed by rolled CHS steel sections onto which canvas panels are laced. The petals are designed to pack alongside each other so as to be readily transportable and easily assembled.
