GWQ Building 2- Westgate House, UK.

Westgate House is the final build of the Great West Quarter development, a 12 acre mixed use site in Brentford. The 83 residential apartments sit above commercial units on the ground floor, which are connected to the ETFE covered piazza. The north façade, adjacent to the A4 flyover, features a 9 storey winter garden.

DDA Engineers, facade and cladding consultancy were responsible for the cladding performance specification for Building 2 and the production of tender designs for the double skinned glazed atrium. The EFTE canopy structure was also engineered by DDA.

The indoor garden and seating area, within the glazed atrium, is laid across 4 accessible floors accompanied by one of Europe's largest vertical garden walls. The atrium is open exclusively to the residents and provides and impressive frontage that is visible from the flyover. It seeks to provide a unique yet functional amity space, tropical vegetation will help to clean and regulate air temperatures within the building and is circulated into the apartments.
