The Community Hub At The Bridge, Dartford, UK.
A ‘community hub and learning centre’, consisting of a primary school, youth hall, nursery, library, visitors’ centre and café housed in a number of connected buildings arranged around a fifteen metre tall central cone structure. The development is intended to be the centrepiece of the Thames Gateway regeneration project.
We worked closely with the design team and the contractor to optimise the structure for this complex building. The structural solution of a steel frame with a composite concrete first floor proved to be cost effective and allowed for a fast erection time.
We also provided the structural design for ETFE roofs which span the primary school atrium and central cone.
