RAF Cosford, UK.
In order to provide future access to the new Cold War air museum hanger at RAF Cosford, we, together with Architects Fielden Clegg Bradley and Base Structures designed de-mountable fabric end walls.
The structures comprise a number of PVC coated polyester fabric panels supported on lightweight prismatic bow trusses. The curved nature of the trusses induces an anticlastic saddle shape in the panels which ensures the fabric remains in tension under different wind directions.
We also carried out all the design of the connections for the main building frame working closely with the specialist fabricator.
