Trowbridge County Hall, UK.
DDA were responsible for the full design and detailing of the lightweight 640m² EFTE roof. The roof creates a new internal courtyard that houses the relocated main entrance, reception area and café between the two County Hall office blocks. The previously unused outdoor space is now a comfortable new indoor link between the two original buildings.
The ETFE roof works towards Mark Butt’s mission of creating the “Greenest public building in the country” and contributes to the new building using 40% less energy than previous county hall.
